As a licensed mental health counselor associate, I use a postmodern approach to challenge perspectives that may be influencing feelings of being stuck, allow clients to have their story heard without judgement, and build skills unique to their experience and needs. My current focus is couples counseling and treating post-traumatic stress disorder and the depression, anxiety, or self-harm that often accompany trauma. I am interested in further developing my work with trauma informed care best practices.
I have worked for 4 years in a private practice setting, primarily with adolescents and adults that have experienced or are currently experiencing trauma. I also have 3 years of experience as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. My work as an advocate inspired me to seek a master’s degree in counseling from Northwestern University.
After receiving my Bachelors is Science from Indiana University in Psychology, I pursued a Masters of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University.
