Joseph Myers (he/him) is a clinician in training at Healing Your Hidden Hurts. He is currently a candidate for a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. He values the infinite worth of all individuals and leans into that belief fully in his counseling sessions; everyone has a story and Joseph wants to hear your story and help you along your healing journey.
Prior to his work in mental health, Joseph spent 6 years in the education sector as a high school and college English teacher, teacher coach, and also taught classes on healthy relationships and teen dating violence to school-aged youth around Marion county and the surrounding counties. His experiences at Manchester University, where he earned a BA in English, as well as Spalding University, where he earned an MFA in Creative Nonfiction Writing, sharpened his skills in understanding the human condition, storytelling, and leading through a culturally and community responsive, empathetic lens.
As a clinician, Joseph is passionate about working with individuals across diverse racial, ethnic, sexual, and gender identifies as well as across different socioeconomic backgrounds and ability levels. Identifying as a member of the LGBTQ+ community himself, Joseph knows how crucial it is to step into your power to be your best, authentic self—and he wants to help you make that a reality in your life.
